Liberal Party scandals and failures (in no particular order)


- Hockeys budget crisis a lie, now worse. Deficit more than doubled in past 4 years.


- Gay marriage passed but with a divisive plebisite. Deputy PM McCormack makes anti LGBTI statement. Dutton and others do not attend historic Act passing


- 2016 census online failure run by IBM. Govt fines IBM $30m then awards it a 5 year $1b contract


- Reefgate $444m given to small organisation who didn't ask for it and with dubious process


- A $12m taxpayer grant is given to USESC in America, because Lucy Turnbull is their Patron


- Barnaby Joyce's former media adviser Vikki Campion had his child. Was given a high paying job she was not qualified for. Bonk ban enforced.


- Andrew Broad MP has asian sugar daddy sex scandal.


- George Christiansen accused of spending more time in asia with fiance than in Australia.


- Cory Bernardi leaves party to form own party


- EFIC given $3.8b loan facility to trade weapons. EFIC’s budget in prior year was $0.05b.


- ‘Innovation Nation’ peeters out


- Watering down gun laws to permit importation of the adler shotgun


- 18C discrimination act amendments makes proving discrimination more difficult.


- A limited banking royal commission that LNP didn't want finds enormous corruption. Is not extended.


- Short and long term tax cuts given to big business, particularly odd since banks are one of the biggest beneficiaries.


- A Union royal commission finds nothing and AFP police union raids are televised. Legal fees of $280,000 to defend the role of Senator Cash who refused to make a statement.


- Dual citizenship bi-elections. Turnbull claims MPs are ok 'and so the High Court shall hold'. High Court did not hold.


- Dutton is recipient of commonwealth funding for his childcare centres but not referred to high court for assessment of eligibility to be in Parliament.


- Dutton overrules doctors to stop child medical treatment in Australia. Courts overrules Dutton. Dutton persists hundreds of times costing millions to delay transfers.


- Fast tracked VISA approvals for French Au Pair’s approved with Dutton intervention. Dutton uses AFP to find whistleblower.


- Alledged $80k cash payment for citizenship VISAs including for criminals


- Tried to strip environmental groups of charity status


- Abolished road safety tribunal


- Border patrols cut to save on fuel costs


- A filing cabinet full of sensitive government documents sold in a Canberra 2nd-hand store.


- Senate voting reforms to dilute preferencing, yet still allows Fraser Anning to become an Independent with only 19 votes.


- $73b in defence contracts with abn exempt offshore companies (ie no GST)


- Stooges heading up Treasury and other important departments to minimise scrutiny


- Fewest Parliamentary sitting days in history. Even then, one question time used up by filibuster. All to avoid scrutiny


- Opposition+crossbench pass Medivac Bill to be first such occurrence since 1929. Refugees moved to Christmas Island to avoid new Bill and the will of Parliament. Then cancelled at a cost of $185m.


- Manus/Nauru detention contract with Paladin investigated for closed tender process, to a small company with Kangaroo Island PO Box.


- Fellow detention contract winner IHMS also dubious process investigated


- $200m in government promotional advertising masquerading as public education to loyal conservative media outlets


- $30m gift paid to Foxtel twice alledgedly for female sport coverage.


- Delayed calling an election to use taxpayer funds for advertising. $126m in 2019.


- Interference in ABC board appointments and Minister Fifields monthly complaints about the ABC. Freeze on ABC’s annual funding indexing


- Zion Graphics (Alex Hawke MP) awarded government printing contracts and doesn't own a printer.


- ‘Jobs Access’ grants to employment agencies for dubious placements


- Angus Taylor and wannabe Georgina Downer give giant novelty cheques to clubs with their faces on them, inferring the large sums of money is from them, but it's taxpayer money.


- Millions of fish dead in Minindee River not visited by environment Minister Melissa Price


- Water meters on the Murray River unmonitored for years


- Parakeelia pays Liberal party $2m in donations with its main source income contributions for MPs for 'computer services'.


- Helloworld contract for $1b of travel with kickback of free travel for Senator Cormann and also because Hockey 'owed them'.


- Stuart Roberts claims $2,000 per month ($64k) for home internet usage. Pays back only $38k and no explanation given.


- Centrelink Robocalls about debts of welfare recipients alledgedly causes many suicides


- $600k to Bjorn Lomborg’s organisation to write one book


- Turnbull announces $100m Australian war memorial/museum to be built....in France.


- Turnbull commits to $50b submarine contact with France that has no clause about any part of it being built in SA, even though jobs in SA were heavily promoted


- Chinese company Landbridge won a 99-year lease to the Darwin port in 2015. Andrew Robb was the trade minister at the time and negotiating the China-Australia trade agreement. Robb stepped down as trade minister in July 2016 and was allegedly appointed as an $880k consultant to Landbridge.


- Bruce Billson took a $75k job at the Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) in March 2016 but did not leave parliament until 9 May 2016. Billson also revealed that he had provided services to the FCA through his company Agile Advisory.


- NSW Liberals bowing to Alan Jones and using SOH sails as a commercial billboard against its own charter.


- Disability Support Pension criteria changed moving many off the DSP onto Newstart. Only 25% of applications for DSP were approved in 2015/16


- Julie Bishop keeps gifts without paying for them. Refuses to answer Senate Estimates questions about this. In particular her Jimmy Choo shoes.


- 23 August 2018 the government votes 70-68 to adjourn Parliament for a month whilst they figure out whose their leader. Didn’t come to work!


- Turnbull rolled as leader. Successor not the person who called the leadership challenge.


- Bi-election to replace Turnbull pits Dave Sharma v Kerryn Phelps. Later determined that Dave Sharma was a dual citizen at that time. Renounced March 2019.


- Morrison proposes shifting of Australia's Israeli embassy to Jerusalem to try and win Wentworth bi-election. Doesn’t win bi-election, doesn’t move embassy, offends foreign relations including Israel.


- Revelations Scott Morrison lost his original preselection bid 8-81 only to dig up dirt/lies on opponent and force him out. Opponent settles out of court later


- Morrison captain picks Warren Mundine over preselected Grant Shultz who resigns from party


- Morrison captain picks Craig Kelly when he’s not preselected. Presumably to avoid Kelly’s threats of turning independent.


- Julia Banks leaves party to become independent amid claims of bullying in lead up to leadership spill. Ann Sudamalis, Julie Bishop and Kelly O'Dwyer not contesting next election leaving very few women left in government.


- Coalition senators vote in favour of Hanson's "it's OK to be white" motion


- Public meetings with Liberal members requiring attendees to compulsorily sign an anti-Labor petition.


- Despite not being a recommended candidate, Morrison picks Ita Buttrose to be Chair of the ABC.

- Melissa Price announces grant recipients before applications even opened



- Winx is somehow a great example of having a go and getting a fair go


- In NZ, Morrison ignores an offer to shake hands and hugs their female PM.


- Budget is ‘Back in the Black’ but 2019 was $4.162b deficit. Surplus only a projection.


- Previous five years were $48.5b, $37.9b, $39.6b, $33.2b and $10.1b deficits.


- Budget provides for just $75 towards electricity bills of some pensioners.


- Having had the chance to mention it in their Budget but didn’t, the day after Labor announced an NDIS revolution, the LNP announces a Royal Commission into the treatment of the disabled.


- LNP criticises Labors Electric Vehicle policy even though they have the same policy


- Revealed that Dutton had a private meeting with Chinese billionaire linked to communism.


- Adani approved on the basis of a CSIRO report that could not be scrutinised by the Senate due to the calling of an election.


- Revealed Angus Taylor’s associated with a private company that sold an area record $79m of water licenses to the Government making a $52m profit. Also revealed that private company paid no tax due to a parent company in the Cayman Islands which also hides its owners.


- Dutton accuses rival of using her disability as an excuse for not living in the electorate. Later apologises.


- Advance Australia’s Captain Getup rubs himself against a Zali Stegall billboard.


- Government labels Labor childcare plan 'communism'


- Morrison admits Government is suing Clive Palmer for $70m but still doing preference deals with his party.
